“Warm the Soul” Chili

“Warm the Soul” Chili

INGREDIENTS

2 lbs ground beef
2 cans (1 lb each) tomatoes
2 cans tomato sauce (8 oz each)
1 whole jalapeño pepper for flavor (optional)
2 large chopped onions
2 chopped green peppers (optional)
3 tsp cumin
6 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp paprika
1.5 tsp salt
1.5 tsp garlic
2 cans of pinto or kidney beans (1 lb each) drained

DIRECTIONS

  1. Brown the ground beef, onions and peppers. Stir in everything except beans, heat to boiling. Reduce heat and simmer. Cover and cook for 1 hr. Stir in beans and heat.
  2. Delicious with cornbread or saltine crackers. Also great to serve with shredded cheese and sour cream.

    Your site is lovely.
    We also like Fritos or a warm crusty French bread with our chili. Diced onions and jalapeños, too (in addition to cooking them in the chili) ❤️
